TUNGNATH-HIGHEST SHIVA TEMPLE IN WORLD

Tungnath is one of the highest Shiv Temple in the world,And this temple is highest of panch kedar temples located in rudraprayag district.this is located at the height of 3,470 m and below the peak of chandrashilla. Generally, the climate of Tungnath in the summer is very pleasant and the best time to visit is around April to September. For the remainder of the year this temple is closed due to the freezing cold winter.
Our first stop was Rishikesh, where we rented a two wheeler for just 500rs per day. We then started our long drive to Chopta which is around 160km away.
The entire journey by two wheeler was approximately 7-8 hours. The length of your trip will depend upon your vehicle of choice but also the road as well. This is due to the prevalence of landslides on the roads in this region. Unless you are accustomed to driving in mountainous regions we suggest that you take a share taxi or public transportation such as a bus. If you do decide to rent your own vehicle it is advised that you begin your journey as early as possible to avoid traffic.
We arrived in Chopta in evening and planned to stay there overnight. We decided it would be best to resume our trek in the morning. We managed to acquire decent accommodation for 900rs after bargaining. It was located near to the entrance of trek and that night was a coldest night I've ever experienced.
The next morning we were ready to embark on our trek. The weather was partially cloudy and we were hoping that it would remain dry throughout the trip. This trek is the shortest and highest trek of the Panch Kedar temples. It is around 5km, and reaches 2,926–3,459 m in height. This is an incredibly steep climb.
After reaching Tungnath temple, the view was absolutely incredibly. There is no way it can be explain in words, it was like having a dream with open eyes. When we arrived it wasn't crowded and was very peaceful. We spent almost an hour there, then we planned to trek above to the the peak of Chandarshilla.
At the top there was a small temple and a belief that "Lord Ram austerities for Shiva and requested Shiva to release him from the guilt of killing Ravana".
For me and my team this jounney is the start of exploring our inner selves as well as exploring the untold tales of bharat.
